At the beginning of each term, we experience significant congestion in the streets surrounding our Indooroopilly campus, with an increasing number of parents opting to drive their children to and from school. This impacts the timely running of our bus services and puts extra pressure on pick-up zones on Lambert Road and Harts Road. This usually settles down by Week 3. We kindly ask for your patience during this period and remind you to please remember the following:
Observe and adhere to all parking signage instructions and road rules. If we all do the right thing, we can help keep the traffic moving around this suburb, which also allows our buses to arrive/depart on time.
Do not stop/park on yellow lines at any time.
Do not park or leave your vehicle in Loading Zones. This interrupts the flow of traffic through that zone.
Lambert Road Pedestrians – do not walk across the driveway on Lambert Road. Please walk up the Shared Zone near Kiss'n'Go. Dashing across the driveway as vehicles turn in/out creates a serious hazard for both you and your children and disrupts the movement of traffic along Lambert Road.
Parking on footpaths is illegal.
Do not double or triple park even in the side streets, e.g. Dennis Street
Be aware of Shared Zone markings in and around the College.
Arriving just 10–15 minutes later has a huge impact. All streets are usually completely clear just 20 minutes after the final bell.
Parents/carers must not enter the College grounds to drop off/pick up between 7:00am – 8:15am or 2:30pm – 3:30pm without written permission from the College (e.g. for students with large music instruments).
Be respectful to staff.
For more information, please see the Traffic Safety guidelines below:
To enhance safety for our youngest students, new traffic calming measures have been installed on Chapel Road, on either side of the Prep Shared Zone. The upgrades were completed by our Facilities team at the request of Lower Primary to help ensure safer movement for students, staff, and families during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Warning signs have also been installed on approach to the area. Please remember that the maximum speed limit in the shared zone is 10 km/h, and 20 km/h in all other areas of the College campus.
We thank all drivers for their care and cooperation in keeping our community safe.

About the Course
The Brookwater Golf & Country Club boasts a Greg Norman signature golf course. Greg’s inspired design makes each hole a perfect mix of challenge and playability. Thanks to recent renovations that have restored the course to its original design, the Brookwater golf course layout is better than ever. The 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course will challenge and inspire, with its signature bunkering and inclusion of natural waterways.
Supporting our Students
All funds raised will go towards the College’s Service Learning Program. Each year, our students go above and beyond to support a range of causes close to their hearts, and the 2025 St Peters Golf Day will provide a welcome boost to their efforts.
Ticket includes: Motorised buggy, 18 holes of championship golf, lunch and after-round burgers, and a complimentary drink.
I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and refreshing break, and that you are feeling ready for the exciting term ahead. This week, it has been a joy to hear our students enthusiastically share stories from their spring holidays while looking forward with energy and anticipation to all that Term 4 has in store.
One of the highlights of the term will be the Year 6 PYP Exhibition on Thursday 6 November. Many of our Year 6 students have demonstrated remarkable commitment by continuing to develop their personal projects during the holidays, and we are eager to celebrate the culmination of their hard work, creativity, and inquiry.
Our Years 3, 4, and 5 students are also preparing for their upcoming camps—a wonderful opportunity to strengthen friendships, build resilience, and develop grit through new experiences beyond the classroom.
Alongside these, many more special events are planned across Term 4, each offering meaningful opportunities for connection, celebration, and growth within our community. I look forward to sharing these important moments with you and your children as we conclude the school year together.
At the conclusion of Term 3, our community gathered for the Head, Hands and Heart Assembly, a cherished tradition that reflects the values and culture of St Peters. This special occasion is more than just a celebration; it is a reminder of our commitment to nurturing the whole child. By recognising the growth of our students in their thinking and learning (Head), their service and action (Hands), and their character and compassion (Heart), we affirm the balanced approach that defines a St Peters education. Assemblies such as this play a vital role in shaping fine young people who are not only academically capable but also resilient, caring, and principled members of our community.

Welcome
Welcome back to Term 4. This term will no doubt be filled with both celebration and hard work as we approach the end of another busy year. With final assessments, ceremonies, and special events ahead, the weeks will no doubt fly by in the blink of an eye. I encourage students to stay focused, finish strongly, and take the time to enjoy the many memorable moments that this term brings.
Social Media Age Restrictions Coming in December
The Australian Government has introduced world-first social media age restrictions to protect young Australians at a critical stage of their development.
As of 10 December 2025, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X, and YouTube will be required to take reasonable steps to prevent anyone under 16 from creating or maintaining an account.
These changes are designed to reduce exposure to online risks and harmful content and to promote healthier digital habits. There will be no penalties for under-16s or their parents; the responsibility lies with the platforms themselves.
At St Peters, we support this initiative and encourage families to begin preparing now by reviewing their child’s online activity and discussing healthy digital boundaries.
To support families through this transition, we will be hosting a Parent Webinar on Tuesday 22 October with further information and practical advice.
You can learn more on the eSafety Commissioner’s website here.
Updated Rock Format
As we begin a new term, I am excited to share a refreshed format for the Junior High section of The Rock, starting next week. Our goal is to make communication clearer, more engaging, and more useful for families.
Each week, you’ll find:
A short message from me, highlighting key themes or reflections from across Junior High.
A practical section on teenagers, with tips and insights on topics such as social media, wellbeing, and study habits.
Key Junior High updates and reminders.
Year Level updates from our Coordinators, sharing what is happening in each year group.

We encourage parents to continue engaging with the standards. Please use them to track progress, set goals, and support your child’s sporting journey. Together, we’re building a strong, connected sporting culture for all.
Please ensure you are familiar with the latest uniform guidelines for all cocurricular sport activities. Updated expectations help our students represent St Peters with pride and consistency. Click the link below to view the most recent uniform information: CLICK HERE TO VIEW

Every race contributes to growth, resilience, and the confidence to take on new challenges.

Changes to The Gap Bus Timetable (Term 4)
Based on recent parent feedback, we plan to trial an adjustment to the timetable for The Gap bus next term. The morning service will run ten minutes earlier from Wednesday 8 October 2025. This will affect all stops along the route. The new timetable is outlined below and will be available via the Location & Transport page of the St Peters website from next week.
Please remember that there is significantly more traffic in the first two weeks of a new term, which may impact the service initially. As St Peters charters this service specifically for our students, your feedback is vital to helping us continually improve it.
