Ironbark Graduation: a defining moment for a St Peters student
Our recent Ironbark 2026 Group 1 Graduation, was a timely reminder of what matters most: connection, growth, and the strength of community. After almost five weeks apart, it was a beautiful day for families to visit our Ironbark property, reconnect with one another, and witness first-hand, how much their young person had grown.
Ironbark is a practical preparation for life: a unique journey of self-discovery and a defining moment in the character formation of each of our Year 9 students. Across the five weeks, students are challenged to take responsibility, contribute to a team, and build the kind of confidence that can only come from moving out of their comfort zone.
A highlight of the day was seeing students take the lead. Following the graduation, they guided their families on a journey around the property, sharing the places and moments that have shaped their experience. It was a powerful example of learning that is intentionally designed to prepare young people for a life of purpose, guided by values and shaped by our Plus Ultra mindset.
Just as importantly, the day reinforced what we know to be true at St Peters Springfield: belonging is key to a thriving young person. Ironbark is a key rite of passage and strengthens the bonds between students, staff, and families.
As we congratulate Group 1 on reaching this Ironbark graduation milestone, we also hold Group 2 in our thoughts as they continue their Ironbark journey. We look forward to welcoming them home soon, ready to share their own story of growth.
