About our Campus

St Peters Lutheran College Springfield is set in the vibrant Springfield Central Health City hub. The campus has a range of modern facilities to cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and development to the site is ongoing due to the College's continued growth.

Our Classrooms

All classrooms at St Peters Springfield are air-conditioned to provide the best environment for focused and sustained learning. The St Peters Kindergarten has its own discrete environment on campus and a substantive outdoor play area. Our Prep classes are located centrally on site. With their own exclusive play space and verandah area for lunch and activities, our Prep students are able to learn and grow alongside the rest of the College, while still having room to develop at their own pace.

Curnow House was the first signature building on site. Named after former College Council Chair, Professor Bill Curnow, the building speaks to both the legacy of St Peters Lutheran College and the modernity of the new campus. Curnow House has four levels, 20 classrooms, a tuckshop, staff and administrative facilities and a library, which is known as The Hub. The Hub is used by all year levels (from Kindergarten to Year 12) and also acts as a centre for the school community to hold special events, learning celebrations, assemblies and chapel services.

The Concourse is an expansive covered area which runs alongside Curnow House. It provides a shaded space for large assemblies, lunch breaks and activities. The Collaborative Courtyards are located on the southern side of Curnow House and serve as breakout learning spaces for first floor classrooms and a recreational area for other students. The artificial Oval is perpetually green and provides not only a superb playing surface but one that is able to be used immediately after wet weather. The adjacent Springfield Central Sporting Complex provides expansive court, field and cricket net facilities to which the College has access for inter and intra school sport through Ipswich City Council. Our Performing Arts building has two music classrooms and an oversized classroom for ensemble and choir rehearsals, drama lessons and performances.

In 2020, our Junior High Precinct was opened. A rich and authentic sense of community is a defining quality of the St Peters Springfield experience. The Junior High Precinct’s faceted design has been developed with the notion of a ‘camp fire’ or community gathering in mind. The Precinct delivers additional teaching and learning space and provides a base from which to bring students in Years 7 – 9 together, enhancing their sense of belonging in Junior High.

The Junior High Precinct offers students an inspirational and flexible space to learn, with writeable surfaces in the classrooms, project-based learning space and agile learning spaces for both individual or collaborative learning. The Precinct includes seven classrooms, an individualised learning hub and state-of-the art iSTEAM (innovation, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) laboratory. The iSTEAM laboratory is a creative design hub which will enhance delivery and development of our robotics, technology and STEAM programs. In addition, there are also locker facilities, kitchenette and dining area, a gallery, and outdoor courtyard spaces.

The Junior High Precinct will support our commitment to best practice and contemporary, future-focussed pedagogies to ensure the highest quality learning for our students to equip them for life in a rapidly changing world. St Peters will continue to build new facilities to cater for the demand of school growth.
