Making Waves

St Peters Lutheran College is one of Australia’s finest swimming schools. From the Primary Years, upwards, our students are taught to swim in modern, world-class facilities. These facilities are located on campus and include:

  • 50m Long Course Aquatic Centre
  • 25m Short Course Aquatic Centre
  • Gymnasium & Weights Gym (fully equipped and staffed)
  • State-of-the-art Recovery Centre
  • Dry Land Training Facilities

The St Peters swimming coaches are highly awarded and well-renowned. Under their guidance, our students have won the last eight QGSSSA Swimming competitions and the last three AIC Swimming competitions. Our coaches have also produced numerous State and National swimmers, including Ariarne Titmus (2018), Jack Cartwright (2015), Georgia Bohl (2014) and Maddie Groves (2012). Our current students continue this legacy of making wave in the pool—a lot of them represent the country on the world swimming stage, and many of our Junior Squad swimmers possess enormous potential.

St Peters swimming coaches include:

  • Dean Boxall (Head Coach, High Performance Squad) - Australian Youth and Age Coach of the Year (2019, 2017), Hancock Prospecting Olympic Program Coach of the Year (2019), Oceania Coach of the Year (2018) and current Australian Senior Team Coach
  • John Gatfield (Assistant Head Coach and National Age Group Squad) - New Zealand Junior and Senior Team coach (2019)
  • Stewart Melton (Head Coach, Junior Squad) - Queensland State Teams coach (2018)
  • Maxine Seear (Assistant Coach, High Performance Squad) - Australian Olympic Representative (2004)

These full-time coaches are supported by a quality group of assistant coaches for the various squads.
