Get involved

Girls Sport at St Peters has a long history of high participation and performance across all competitions. We encourage girls to be actively involved in gaining the well-rounded education offered to them at the College. Valuable life lessons can be gained from involvement in these programs including developing resilience, teamwork skills and positive attitudes, as well as the benefits of physical health and fitness. The sense of being part of the St Peters community through involvement in the cocurricular program cannot be understated.

The College is involved in two prestigious sporting associations, Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) and Brisbane Schoolgirls’ Rowing Association (BSRA). There are ten schools in the formal QGSSSA competition and fixtures are played on a rotational basis, whereby all schools compete against each other throughout the season.

Girls also have the opportunity to participate in the Brisbane Water Polo Inc (BWPI) and the Queensland Inter-School Equestrian Association (QISEA). Each association is organised and administrated independently of each other. This means that each association offers a different range of sports at different times during the year and has a different set of procedures and guidelines. Where possible, the College endeavours to keep student expectations and policies consistent between the associations.
